President Lee Jae Myung chaired a second real estate policy review meeting Friday, spending six hours examining measures to accelerate housing supply.

Cheong Wa Dae chief spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said in a written briefing that Lee presided over the session from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Earlier, at a first meeting Monday that ran for more than seven hours, Lee directed ministers from related ministries and his staff to draw up plans to maximize housing supply volumes and push forward delivery timelines as much as possible.

Kang said Lee received reports at Friday's meeting from ministers and committee chairs on financial support measures to boost housing supply, as well as plans to encourage and support the early delivery of real estate projects, and that a wide-ranging exchange of views followed.

"Over the course of the six-hour meeting, proposals for a full-scale expansion of supply and swift implementation measures were extensively put forward and closely reviewed," Kang said.

Wrapping up the session, Lee urged Prime Minister Han Seong-sook and the ministers present to "stop clinging to old ways of thinking, make transformative judgments, and have the courage to think boldly and act on it."
