A woman in her 30s has been arrested in Busan after allegedly attacking a landlord in his 70s with a weapon while he was repairing a toilet at her apartment.
The Busan Sasang Police Station said Friday it arrested the woman, identified only as A, on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of wielding a weapon against the building owner, identified as B, at her home in Sasang-gu, Busan, around 1:15 p.m. Friday, when B had come to fix a toilet.
B was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
B's son, who lived on the floor above, heard his father cry out and came downstairs before calling police.
A was living on the third floor of the building at the time, while B and his son resided on the fourth floor directly above.
Officers responded to the scene and arrested A on the spot.
"We plan to investigate from multiple angles, including whether there had been any dispute between the landlord and the tenant," a police official said.
Police said they intend to seek an arrest warrant after questioning A about the circumstances and motive behind the attack.
