The Korea Billiards Federation will host Round 2 of the K-Billiard 2026 Division League Carom D1 and Pocket D2 team league at Yanggu Comprehensive Sports Town in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon Province, Saturday and Sunday.
The round will feature top domestic players, including national team representatives in carom three-cushion and pocket nine-ball. In Carom D1, Song Yun-do, a carom three-cushion national team member competing under South Chungcheong Province Billiards Federation D1, will take part. Nationally ranked No. 3 Choe Wan-yeong of TEAM Gwangju and No. 7 Kim Do-hyeon of Gyeonggi Province Gimpo A will also compete for their respective teams.
In Round 1, held in Namwon, North Jeolla Province, in June, Gyeonggi Province Gimpo A took the Carom D1 lead with a 5-2 record. TEAM Gwangju sits second at 4-3, chasing the top spot.
In individual standings, Hwang Ui-jong of TEAM Gwangju and Song Hyeon-il of Gyeonggi Province Gimpo A are tied for first with unbeaten records. Players who showed strong form in Round 1 will also draw attention as the team standings race intensifies.
In Pocket D2, national nine-ball team player Ko Tae-yeong will compete under the North Gyeongsang Province Billiards Federation, which went undefeated in Round 1 to claim sole first place. Gyeonggi Province Pocket B sits second at 5-1, with North Jeolla Province Billiards Federation third at 4-2.
In individual standings, Park Seong-u of Gyeonggi Province Pocket B leads with an 88.8 percent win rate, while Ko also ranks among the top players, keeping the individual competition closely contested.
Round 2 is expected to bring a full-scale standings battle as teams build on the form they showed in Round 1. In Carom D1, leader Gyeonggi Province Gimpo A and second-place TEAM Gwangju will renew their rivalry. In Pocket D2, unbeaten North Gyeongsang Province Billiards Federation and second-place Gyeonggi Province Pocket B will continue their fight for the top.
Starting this year, the upper divisions operate in conjunction with the federation's general championships. The initiative aims to gradually consolidate various billiards competitions into a division-based structure and lay the groundwork for eventually incorporating the top league into a national tournament.
