Hyungji Robotics, a subsidiary of Hyungji Elite dedicated to new robot ventures, has signed a technology cooperation and exclusive domestic commercialization agreement with Shanghai Zhongshuai Robot, a Chinese intelligent exoskeleton robot company, the company announced Tuesday.
The signing ceremony took place Monday at Zhongshuai Robot's headquarters in China, with Hyungji Elite CEO Choi Jun-ho and Zhongshuai Robot Chairman Li Yuanzhou in attendance. The two sides signed a domestic product supply agreement and discussed plans for advancing the project and expanding their market strategy.
The two companies had signed a joint research and development agreement in January for wearable robots tailored to senior users. The latest contract is a follow-up measure to establish a domestic sales framework. Hyungji Robotics will take exclusive charge of the retail and marketing of Zhongshuai Robot's exoskeleton wearable robots in South Korea, promoting the products through the Hyungji Group's nationwide dealership network.
The company will also support an education program explaining how to wear the robots and the technology behind them, targeting senior users. The exoskeleton products offer assistive functions designed around the physical movement and activity patterns of older adults, with detailed settings adjustable to individual physical conditions. A Korean-language application will allow users to customize personal settings and manage functions.
The products are expected to reach the market as soon as the legal approval process for domestic sales is complete. A Hyungji Robotics official said the company aims to "secure a competitive edge in the market by combining senior-focused retail hubs with technology services."
