Hite Jinro announced Thursday that the initial production run of 900,000 bottles of its non-alcoholic beer Terra Zero sold out within 10 days of launch.
The bottled product, released June 30, averaged about 90,000 bottles sold per day. It came in two sizes — 330 milliliters and 500 milliliters — designed with the food service channel in mind. The canned version had already surpassed 4 million cans in cumulative sales within 100 days of its launch.
Terra Zero is a 100 percent alcohol-free product. Hite Jinro says it stands apart as the only bottled product in food service and entertainment venues — channels that have traditionally carried low-alcohol bottled options — to offer both zero alcohol and zero calories.
After orders from restaurants and bars exceeded expectations, Hite Jinro launched an emergency additional production run. The company plans to stabilize supply and sustain the strong early sales momentum.
