Two runs daily during morning rush hours, 6 to 9 a.m.
Yangju city announced Wednesday that the Hoecheon new town–Gangbyeon Station route had been selected as a new line under the Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus program following a competitive application process.
The selected route runs from Hoecheon Benest House, passing through the southern and eastern parts of Okjeong new town before terminating at Gangbyeon Station. The service will operate twice during morning rush hours between 6 and 9 a.m., covering a one-way distance of 51.2 kilometers.
The city plans to complete the necessary administrative procedures, including the issuance of a limited operating license, targeting a mid-October launch.
The new route complements the existing P9603 line — which runs from the Samsung area through Hoecheon new town to Gangbyeon Station — forming a broader metropolitan transit network serving the Gangbyeon Station corridor.
Gangbyeon Station is a key transfer hub in the Greater Seoul area, with Seoul Subway Line 2 accessible within about 300 meters, or roughly a five-minute walk. From there, passengers can reach Jamsil Station in about five minutes by subway (about 19 minutes by bus), Gangnam Station in about 17 minutes (about 50 minutes by bus), Seongsu Station in about six minutes (about 40 minutes by bus), and City Hall Station in about 24 minutes (about 35 minutes by bus), allowing commuters to bypass chronic congestion and reach Seoul's major business and commercial districts more quickly.
The Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus operates as a reserved-seat express bus, with passengers booking in advance through the MiRi app. The reservation system eliminates waiting for a seat or standing during the ride, and is expected to provide a more reliable, on-time commuting service.
"The selection of this Pyeonha G-Bus route is meaningful because it builds a Gangbyeon Station-centered metropolitan transit network in conjunction with the existing P9603 line, expanding residents' access to Seoul and their range of transit options," Yangju Mayor Jeong Deok-yeong said. "We will continue to identify diverse metropolitan routes that reflect commuter demand and urban development conditions, and do our best to provide ever more convenient transit services."
The Gyeonggi Pyeonha G-Bus is a fully reserved-seat express bus service operating during morning and evening rush hours, stopping only at major designated points along high-speed, limited-stop routes. Only passengers who have booked a seat in advance through the MiRi app may board, and fares are charged at 3,450 won upon boarding using a registered transit card, with the integrated transfer discount applied.
