Yeongdeungpo-gu in Seoul will host "Akgiya Nolja" (Let's Play Instruments), an interactive classical music performance for children, at 3 p.m. on July 25, District Mayor Jo Yu-jin said.

The performance is a special program under the "Culture Day" series at Yeongdeungpo Art Square. It combines live performance with hands-on instrument activities, giving residents an accessible and engaging introduction to classical music.

The program features string instruments including violin, viola, cello and double bass, with professional musicians offering easy-to-follow commentary to deepen the audience's appreciation. After the performance, children will have a chance to try playing the instruments themselves.

The setlist is designed for all ages, blending classical favorites with music from films and animated features. Selections include Johann Strauss's "Radetzky March," Vivaldi's "Summer" from "The Four Seasons," and Haydn's "Surprise Symphony," alongside music from the animated works "Golden" and "Kiki's Delivery Service." Admission is free, and residents wishing to attend can register through the Yeongdeungpo Art Square website on a first-come, first-served basis. Any remaining seats will be available for walk-in registration on the day of the performance.

"We have prepared this interactive performance so that children and families can enjoy classical music in an easy and fun way during the summer vacation," District Mayor Jo said. "We will continue to expand diverse programs so that residents can naturally encounter culture and the arts in their everyday lives."

Yeongdeungpo Art Square has been offering a variety of programs through its "Culture Day" series. Past events include a jazz performance, "Jazz Flowing Over the Scene," in February, and a talk concert in June titled "Manu's Story with Actor Moon Jeong-hee," centered on her pet dog.
