Company holds second-half town hall to share results, strategy
AX push across all divisions; new after-sales business model under review
Kolon Mobility Group is accelerating its transformation into a comprehensive mobility company — spanning new-car sales, after-sales service and certified used vehicles — by deepening its AI-driven data business.
The company held a second-half town hall meeting Monday at Kolon Tower in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, sharing its medium- to long-term vision and second-half execution strategy with all employees.
Key performance indicators for the first half — including sales, operating profit and EBITDA — all exceeded targets, the company said. Building on those results, Kolon Mobility Group plans to push ahead in the second half with its transition from a conventional dealership to a "mobility lifecycle partner."
The company outlined a strategy to build an ecosystem linking new-car sales, after-sales service, and used-vehicle buying and selling, while integrating and leveraging customer data through digital transformation and AI transformation.
CEO Kang I-gu said the company would expand its data-driven business by integrating customer and vehicle data to forecast repurchase demand, recommend tailored warranty extensions, calculate appropriate used-car purchase prices and deliver personalized services. He added that the company is also reviewing a new after-sales business model that would extend maintenance services to vehicles of brands beyond those it currently handles.
Co-CEO Choe Hyeon-seok shared plans to expand the vehicle acquisition pipeline by leveraging used-car auction infrastructure from a recently announced acquisition, and to strengthen the competitiveness of the Kolon certified used-car brand.
At the event, heads of each business division — including Kolon Motors, Kolon Automotive and Lotus Cars Korea — presented their second-half strategies. The company also outlined a shift toward competency- and role-based personnel management and more frequent off-cycle appointments.
"First-half results are the starting point for a second-half leap," Kang said. "Beyond achieving a corporate value of 1 trillion won ($664 million), we will complete our transformation into a comprehensive mobility company — not just a dealership — by building a mobility ecosystem covering new cars, used cars, after-sales service and data by 2030."
Kolon Mobility Group has operated global premium brand dealerships along with more than 100 showrooms and service centers nationwide since it became the first company in South Korea to import and sell BMW vehicles in 1987. After launching its Kolon certified used-car brand last year, the company recently acquired Autohub Selka as part of its push to build out a used-car value chain.
