Actor and singer Choi Si-won shared a meaningful message amid his ongoing legal campaign against malicious online commenters.

On Monday, Choi launched a new account on the social media platform Threads, expressing gratitude to his supporters. "If it weren't for the empathy and encouragement you have sent me, my thoughts might have remained nothing more than words spoken to myself," he wrote. "Every warm word of support and encouragement is a great comfort and source of strength to me. I am truly grateful."

He went on to say he hoped to continue the conversation with his followers. "I would like to keep thinking about the future of our country together with you, and share the thoughts I have been reflecting on," he said. "I will listen more carefully to different opinions and keep learning. Would it be all right if we talked together?"

Choi also wrote that he often thinks about what kind of country the next generation will inherit. "Sometimes in the past, and more often these days, I find myself thinking, as an ordinary citizen, about what this country should look like for the generation that will soar into the future," he said. "Do you think about that too?"

Earlier, Choi had taken a firm legal stance against malicious comments and posts speculating about his political views.

He filed requests with a US court seeking the disclosure of identifying information for users on X and YouTube, and on Tuesday, July 7, declared, "Silence ends here. I will no longer stand by in the face of malice," announcing he would pursue aggressive action against abusive posts and insulting comments.
