Comedian Lee Su-ji, 41, will undergo surgery for vocal cord nodules.
Her agency, CP Entertainment, said Tuesday that Lee had recently been diagnosed with vocal cord nodules and would receive treatment as recommended by her doctors.
Lee has been active across multiple platforms, including the SBS variety show "Ani Geunde Jinja! (Wait, Seriously!)" and her personal YouTube channel "Hot Issue Ji."
Sufficient footage has been recorded in advance, so her scheduled broadcasts are not expected to be affected.
"Lee plans to resume activities after taking time to recover," the agency said. "We will make sure she returns in good health."
Lee rose to prominence through variety programs including "SNL Korea" and "Jikjangin-deul (Office Workers)," earning a reputation as one of the entertainment industry's most in-demand talents. She is also set to appear in the upcoming ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "Sinbyeong 4: Sabotage."
