Nowon-gu District Chief Seo Jun-o attended the "6th Community Social Security Plan Roundtable Forum" held Monday at the main auditorium of the Nowon-gu District Office.

The community social security plan is a statutory document that reflects the district's characteristics and residents' needs, outlining the vision and key priorities for social security policy over the next four years.

About 120 people attended the forum, including residents, social security agency workers and relevant experts. Participants discussed building a social safety net covering everyone from infants to the elderly and people with disabilities, along with policy tasks across residential welfare, culture, safety, employment and the environment. Through breakout roundtable discussions and priority voting, attendees proposed policy directions that residents would be able to feel in their daily lives.

Nowon-gu plans to analyze the proposals put forward at the forum and incorporate them into the 6th Community Social Security Plan after expert review. The plan will be submitted to the Seoul Metropolitan Government in September after deliberation by the community social security council and a report to the district council.

"This forum was a meaningful occasion for residents to participate directly in the policymaking process," Seo said. "We will continue to communicate actively with residents and deliver policies and administration that they can truly feel and that meet their expectations."
