Kia AutoLand Gwangju said Sunday that it held a mobile medical service event in Wando-gun, South Jeolla Province, on Friday, providing care to medically underserved residents.
The outreach aimed to bridge the regional healthcare gap by delivering hands-on medical services to elderly residents, low-income households and multicultural families who have difficulty accessing healthcare.
For the event, Kia AutoLand Gwangju assembled a volunteer medical team comprising company employees and specialist medical staff from Wonkwang University Hospital, which operates an occupational health center at the AutoLand Gwangju facility.
The session ran from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Daechang-ri community center in Gunoe-myeon, Wando-gun, where residents received personalized medical services including specialist health consultations, medical interviews and basic health screenings such as blood sugar and blood pressure checks.
The employee volunteer team shared practical, tailored health information — including lifestyle improvement tips based on individual blood sugar and blood pressure readings and guidance on preventing chronic disease — drawing a positive response from local residents.
