NH NongHyup Gyeongnam and the National Financial Industry Labor Union's NH NongHyup Gyeongnam branch held a "labor-management harmony run" at Sinri Mulhyanggi Park in Changwon on Wednesday, the organizations announced Friday.
The event was the first jointly organized by management and labor since NH NongHyup Gyeongnam relocated to a newly built office near Changwon Central Station in mid-December last year. Staff had raised concerns internally about a lack of communication opportunities after the move, prompting the joint initiative. It was planned not to resolve any specific dispute but to strengthen organizational cohesion and foster a healthier workplace.
Held under the slogan "Run together! Smile at each other! Move forward as one!", the event drew about 80 headquarters employees who signed up voluntarily. Participants ran together along the park track, building bonds across corporate and departmental lines. Those who completed the course received personalized keyrings engraved with their names.
"I hope this experience of sweating and running together will help NongHyup Gyeongnam become an organization built on trust and harmony," said Ryu Gil-nyeon, head of the Gyeongnam branch. Lee Seong-jun, acting chair of the Gyeongnam labor union, called it "a meaningful occasion to build deep trust between labor and management by running in step with each other."
NH NongHyup Gyeongnam said it plans to continue reviewing a range of labor-management communication programs, encouraged by the positive response from employees to the run.
