Pulmuone's kimchi museum, Museum Kimchikan, will hold a summer vacation event titled "2026 Kimchi-Times, Museum Kimchikan Summer Vacation Special Reporter Recruitment" from July 28 to Aug. 30.

The hands-on event invites visitors to act as reporters for the day, covering and documenting the museum's exhibitions themselves. It was designed to encourage children to explore the exhibitions more actively during the summer break.

Anyone visiting the museum can take part. Participants pick up a reporter kit — comprising a press card, activity sheet, pencil and L-folder — at the information desk on the fourth floor. They can also personalize the press card to create their own press badge. Completing the activity sheet lets participants publish their own newspaper.

Completed activity sheets can be kept or submitted to the museum. Outstanding submissions will be featured as "2026 Kimchi-Times Best Articles" content on Museum Kimchikan's official Instagram account.

A social media event is also on offer. Participants who scan the QR code on the activity sheet and fill out an application form will receive priority access to the "Winter Special Reporter Corps," scheduled to run in the second half of the year.

The museum's "Children's Kimchi School" will also expand to weekday sessions for roughly three weeks from July 28 to Aug. 16, combining kimchi-making experiences with docent-led exhibition tours. Registration opens July 15 on a first-come, first-served basis.

"This summer vacation event was designed to go beyond simply viewing the exhibitions, letting visitors enjoy themselves by reporting on and documenting Museum Kimchikan firsthand," said Na Gyeong-in, team leader at Museum Kimchikan.
