Seoul's Seongdong-gu has launched "Text Communication 365," a direct text messaging service connecting residents to the district mayor, aimed at strengthening community engagement and delivering more responsive, everyday governance.

The service gives residents a direct channel to share everyday complaints, policy suggestions and local concerns via mobile text message.

Residents can send their feedback anytime, anywhere with a single text — no office visit or complicated procedures required.

The dedicated mobile number is 010-6899-4239 and operates as a text-only line.

The district plans to run "Text Communication 365" as more than a simple complaint intake window — using it as a genuine participatory channel that feeds residents' diverse voices directly into policy.

Messages received will be routed to the relevant department for prompt review, on-site inspection and any necessary action. Matters requiring extended review will be tracked separately, with residents kept informed of progress — a process the district says will build greater public trust.

"Every resident's opinion is an important starting point for policy, so we will carefully examine even the smallest inconvenience and actively reflect it in district administration," district mayor Yoo Bo-hwa said. "Through 'Text Communication 365,' we will listen more closely to residents' everyday difficulties and suggestions, and continue an open style of governance that delivers change people can feel."
