Veteran actor Kim Young-ok, 88, has opened up about the loneliness of living alone since her husband's death.

A video titled "Chinese cuisine goddess Park Eun-young's steamed razor clam recipe anyone can follow (+ all-purpose chili sauce)" was posted Wednesday on the "Kim Young-ok" YouTube channel.

In the video, Kim invited chef Park Eun-young to her home — the two having first met on the JTBC program "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator."

Park told Kim she appeared to have lost weight, to which Kim replied, "I have. About 4 kilograms since then."

"It's been a while since grandfather passed, so I can talk about it now, but I must have been struggling emotionally," Kim said. "That's why the weight came off."

She added that her appetite had disappeared. "Food just loses its taste. When you're eating alone, nothing tastes good," she said, conveying the emptiness she has felt since losing someone who had been by her side for so long.

Park prepared steamed razor clams for Kim that day, while Kim made chilled cucumber kimchi soup. When Park praised the food, saying it was delicious, Kim expressed her gratitude. "This is the first time someone has come and cooked for me," she said. "And to have one of the country's top chefs say it tastes good — that means so much."
