ISCC Plus certification secured among key milestones

Kumho Tire announced Thursday that it has published its 2026 Sustainability Report, detailing the company's ESG performance and medium- to long-term strategy.

The report is structured around four core areas aligned with global disclosure standards: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets.

On the environmental front, the company secured International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus (ISCC Plus) and launched a flagship product carrying the certification. It also successfully developed a tire incorporating 90% sustainable materials. Kumho Tire raised its renewable energy usage rate to 13% and expanded the application of life cycle assessments across its product lineup as part of broader carbon reduction efforts.

In the social category, all eight of the company's global production facilities obtained ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management certification, and a dedicated safety and environment division was established. Kumho Tire extended human rights impact assessments to all worksites, increased participation in supply chain ESG evaluations, and highlighted social contribution activities at its global operations.

On governance, the company appointed a governance specialist and conducted a board evaluation. The report also covers the Vietnam facility's acquisition of TISAX information security certification from the German Association of the Automotive Industry, expanded investment in information security, and progress in linking ESG criteria to the investment process.

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire earned a Gold rating — placing in the top 5% — from ESG rating agency EcoVadis for two consecutive years and was listed in S&P Global's annual sustainability report for the second straight year. In March, it was recognized as an outstanding company in water management at the 2025 CDP Korea Awards.
