Seoul's Geumcheon-gu District Mayor <style ref="s1">Choi Ki-chan</style> is visiting all 10 dong community centers in the district through July 24 as part of a field outreach initiative titled "Opening the 9th Elected Term with Residents," marking the launch of his new term.

The visits mark the first official field outreach since the ninth elected term began, the district office said. Choi has long emphasized community-centered communication as the basis for identifying lifestyle-focused policies and delivering effective governance. He kicked off the tour Monday with a visit to the Siheung 5-dong community center to hear residents' concerns.

During each visit, Choi stops by the civil affairs office to encourage staff before holding a tea gathering with heads of local civic organizations to discuss neighborhood issues. He also joins a samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) sharing event organized by the Saemaul Leaders Geumcheon-gu Women's Association, checking in on elderly residents from vulnerable households and spending time with the community.

"As a lifelong Geumcheon resident of 60 years, I know this district better than anyone," Choi said. "I will pursue field-centered governance that resolves everyday inconveniences one by one and delivers change that residents can actually feel."
