Starbucks Korea said it will run a "Summer Coupon" promotion through Aug. 14, offering free beverages and food discounts to its members.

All Starbucks Rewards members are eligible for the benefits. Starbucks Rewards is a membership program open to anyone who signs up through the company's website or app. Members who join by July 31 will receive a coupon the following day.

The free beverage coupon can be redeemed for a Tall-size iced Caffe Americano, iced Caffe Latte or iced Vanilla Latte. The food coupon offers a 30 percent discount on select menu items, including sandwiches, cake, bread and ice cream.

Starbucks Korea had delayed promotions and summer product launches in May following controversy over an event tied to the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement anniversary. The company began gradually resuming new product releases and member promotions in late June. A Starbucks Korea official said the campaign is "part of an existing customer benefits program."
