The National Nakdong River Biological Resources Institute and Dong-A Otsuka Co. donated summer supplies to Sangju on Tuesday to help energy-vulnerable residents get through the summer heat.

The institute contributed 20 electric fans, while Dong-A Otsuka donated a combined 3,000 bottles of sports drinks and water.

The donated items will be distributed to 20 energy-vulnerable households in the area through the Sangju city social welfare division.

Yong Seok-won, director of the National Nakdong River Biological Resources Institute, said he hoped "this act of sharing will be a small help for our energy-vulnerable neighbors in getting through the summer heat," adding that the institute would "continue to practice warm attention and sharing throughout the community."

Meanwhile, the institute and Dong-A Otsuka also signed an MOU on Tuesday to cooperate on environmental, social and governance (ESG) management.
