Singer and actor Son Dam-bi has apologized again after a video of her playing with a bubble toy in a hotel room with her daughter drew criticism online.
Son posted on her social media Tuesday, saying, "Playing bubbles with my child for a moment at the accommodation was my carelessness."
She added that she had cleaned up thoroughly after the activity and would "act more carefully and make sure this does not happen again." She also wished her followers "a happy day."
The controversy began after Son posted a video Sunday showing her spending time with her daughter using an automatic bubble toy inside a hotel room in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, where she had traveled with her husband, former speed skater Lee Kyu-hyeok.
After the video was posted, some online users took issue with the bubble play inside the room, arguing it could place an extra burden on housekeeping staff and create slippery floors that might cause accidents. They also said commercial bubble products can contain additives and dyes beyond basic soap, and that bubbles landing on wallpaper, wooden furniture or carpets could lead to stains or mold.
Son initially responded by saying she had wiped down the floor with towels after the activity, but as criticism over accommodation etiquette continued, she issued a second statement acknowledging her carelessness.
