Yoo Seung-jun (Steve Seung-jun Yoo, 48), the singer barred from entering South Korea over military service evasion allegations, has hit 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and received the platform's Silver Play Button.

Yoo posted a verification video on his YouTube channel Tuesday announcing he had finally received the Silver Play Button for reaching 100,000 subscribers.

In the video, he shared an unboxing moment, saying, "Finally, 100,000 followers — I love you all. I'll be a million-subscriber YouTuber soon."

Before opening the package, he quipped, "This is not a lawsuit notice, definitely not a wedding invitation — I'm unboxing something." Upon seeing the Silver Play Button inside, he added, "I thought it would come easily, but it wasn't."

Yoo said what mattered most was not the subscriber milestone itself but the fact that so many people still show interest and come to find him. "Now that we've got the Silver Button, let's get to a million a little faster," he said.

He added, "This is just the beginning. If you have something to challenge yourself with, go for it — I hope both you and I keep pushing forward with positivity and energy. A healthy mind starts with a healthy body. Let's go, Silver Button!"

In a social media post, Yoo wrote that receiving the award felt better than he had expected, adding: "Because it wasn't easy, I think it will stay with me longer. More than the number, more than this button, the people who have been with me along the way mean more to me, and I am grateful."
