A green tea country healing destination

Yulpo Solbat Beach, nestled beyond the Boseong green tea fields — one of South Korea's most celebrated wellness destinations — will open Saturday.

Located in Hoecheon-myeon, the beach is one of the South Sea coast's most popular summer spots, offering visitors dense coastal pine forests, clean white sand and the calm waters of Deungnyangman Bay all at once.

Its proximity to the country's only seawater green tea spa center has made it a sought-after destination where visitors can combine swimming with green tea seawater baths.

This year, authorities have installed jellyfish barriers across the entire swimming zone to keep jellyfish out of the water, with swimmer safety as the top priority.

Safety personnel will also be stationed at the beach, and an integrated operations center will be set up to prevent accidents and ensure a rapid on-site response.

In addition, standard rental prices for facilities such as parasols, tubes and life jackets will be posted in advance on the county government's website to prevent overcharging. Authorities will combine public education with enforcement to crack down on the unauthorized long-term occupation of space with tents and camping gear — a practice commonly known as "spot-squatting."

Shower facilities, restrooms and other amenities have been fully refurbished, and cleanup of the sandy beach and pine forest areas is complete, allowing tourists to enjoy a cleaner and more comfortable experience.

"Yulpo Solbat Beach is Boseong's premier summer destination, where visitors can enjoy beautiful natural scenery alongside a wide range of tourism offerings," county chief Kim Cheol-woo said.
