Min Byeong-deok, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea's Euljiro Committee, spoke Tuesday afternoon at a press conference at the National Assembly's communication hall in Yeouido, Seoul, denouncing MBK Partners and Meritz for driving Homeplus toward liquidation.
The Euljiro Committee urged MBK and Meritz to immediately provide debtor-in-possession financing to support Homeplus's recovery, called for stronger oversight of MBK as a national pension fund manager, and demanded that a National Assembly hearing be convened to establish the facts and assign accountability.
