The number of vehicles listed on "Encar Midgo," the used-car purchase service of automotive trading platform Encar, has surpassed 60,000. The service's growth is attributed to its efforts to address the two biggest concerns in online used-car buying: verifying vehicle condition and building transaction trust.

Encar said Tuesday that Encar Midgo had 61,771 registered vehicles as of Monday.

Encar Midgo selects vehicles from general dealer listings, directly inspects and vets them, and manages the entire transaction process — from consultation and purchase to delivery. Customers can buy a verified vehicle without meeting a dealer in person.

The service launched in 2019 under the name "Encar Home Service" before rebranding under its current name last year. It surpassed 40,000 registered vehicles in 2025, and in roughly a year since then has grown by more than 50 percent to reach the 60,000 mark.

Used-car prices and quality can vary widely even for the same model, depending on the year, mileage, accident and maintenance history, and overall condition. For buyers, the reliability of listing information is a critical factor in purchase decisions. Encar said it is focused on expanding its pool of directly inspected vehicles to broaden customer choice and reduce purchase anxiety.

The service has also added convenience features. Encar Midgo offers a seven-day return guarantee, allowing customers to drive a vehicle for up to seven days after taking delivery before deciding whether to keep it. The company has also introduced seven-days-a-week delivery so customers can receive vehicles on weekends.

Customers can browse vehicles on mobile or PC as they would with online shopping, review an inspection research note, and complete payment and delivery requests — all in one place. The service is designed to meet the broader shift in used-car transactions from offline to online and contactless channels.

Meanwhile, Encar is also working to improve the transaction experience through AI technology. Drawing on accumulated vehicle transaction and image data, the company developed "Encar Vision AI" to automate repetitive tasks such as registering vehicle information, options and photos. It has also introduced an AI chatbot that lets buyers enter their preferences in a conversational format to narrow down the vehicle range and receive tailored recommendations.

"Encar Midgo sets a new standard for online used-car transactions through Encar's direct inspection and hands-on management of the entire process," an Encar official said. "Building on surpassing 60,000 registered vehicles, we will continue to raise listing reliability and advance customer-centered, innovative services."
