BHC said Tuesday that its Kwasak King chicken has surpassed 10 million cumulative sales in the 17 months since its launch.
Launched in February 2025, Kwasak King achieves its signature crunch through a blend of potato, rice and corn crumble. The product has since grown into one of BHC's flagship menu items, accounting for more than 15 percent of the chain's total sales. Its ability to stay crispy even after delivery has driven rising reorder rates during the humid monsoon season.
Selling 10 million units of a single chicken menu item is a rare milestone in South Korea's fried chicken industry — the equivalent of roughly one in five Koreans having tried it. The success has also translated into stronger franchise performance: sales at BHC franchises have grown more than 20 percent year-on-year since Kwasak King's launch.
The formula behind Kwasak King's success is already shaping follow-up offerings. Sweet Chili King, launched in 2025, has posted steady sales, while Soy Garlic King — BHC's first new menu item of 2026 — crossed 1 million cumulative sales within three months of its debut. BHC plans to unveil an additional new menu item this month.
