Police have launched an investigation after an unidentified woman's body was found in a reservoir in Namwon, North Jeolla Province.

According to the Namwon Police Station, a report came in at around 2:23 p.m. Saturday saying a body was floating in Dochon Reservoir in Bojeol-myeon, Namwon.

Fire department personnel who arrived at the scene recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified woman and handed it over to police.

Police plan to determine the woman's identity and the cause of death through an autopsy by the National Forensic Service.
