KB Asset Management said Monday that its KB Samsung Electronics SK hynix 50 Fund has surpassed 100 billion won ($64.3 million) in assets under management.

The KB Samsung Electronics SK hynix 50 Fund is a balanced product that concentrates on Samsung Electronics and SK hynix while incorporating bonds to enhance stability. It crossed the 100 billion won mark within a month of its June 5 launch.

The fund maintains an effective allocation of around 25% each in Samsung Electronics and SK hynix. Its portfolio draws on individual shares as well as futures and exchange-traded funds.

Roughly half of the remaining assets are invested in bonds, primarily government bonds and monetary stabilization bonds. The fund keeps its duration — the weighted average maturity — short at between 0.9 and 1.0, reducing exposure to interest rate fluctuations. The structure makes it well suited for long-term investment through pension accounts such as retirement pension plans.

Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are widely regarded as prime beneficiaries of expanding AI infrastructure investment, and related products have been drawing strong inflows. The RISE Samsung Electronics SK hynix Bond Mixed 50 ETF — which allocates 25% each to the two chipmakers and invests the remaining 50% in high-grade short-term government bonds — surpassed 4 trillion won in net assets on June 18.

"Investors are responding to a structure that concentrates on the core beneficiaries of the AI era while using bonds to bolster stability," said Beom Gwang-jin, head of KB Asset Management's pension wealth management division. "Given the long-term nature of retirement pension assets, the KB Samsung Electronics SK hynix 50 Fund will serve as an efficient investment vehicle that balances growth potential with stability."

The KB Samsung Electronics SK hynix 50 Fund is available through KB Kookmin Bank, KB Insurance, BNK Busan Bank, NH NongHyup Bank, NH Investment & Securities and Eugene Investment & Securities.
