Yeongdeungpo-gu District Chief Jo Yu-jin attended the 10th Seonyu-ro Nopo Festival on Thursday afternoon in the alley shopping district near Seonyu Island Station.
The festival runs Thursday through Friday under the theme "Intoxicated by Freshness," featuring food discounts, a small concert, roulette games and traditional folk activities. The district organized the event to support the revitalization of the alley-style shopping district.
Jo toured the festival grounds, taking part in hands-on programs and events set up throughout the alleys and joining visitors in the festivities.
"The alley shopping district near Seonyu Island Station has every potential to grow into a representative alley commercial district of Yeongdeungpo, where culture and sensibility come together," Jo said. "Going forward, I will listen closely to the voices of merchants and provide unwavering support to breathe vitality into the alley commercial district and bring warmth to the local economy."
