Jungnang-gu launched the first official schedule of the 9th elected administration on Tuesday, marking a new beginning alongside residents of the district.

District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi began the day with a visit to Mangwoo Historic Cultural Park before holding his inauguration ceremony, where he shared the administrative direction and vision for the 9th term and pledged to achieve a greater leap forward together with residents.

That morning, Ryu visited the independence patriots' burial ground at Mangwoo Historic Cultural Park, paying his respects at the graves of independence activist Yu Gwan-sun, Buddhist monk and poet Han Yong-un, and children's rights advocate Bang Jeong-hwan to mark the first official engagement of the new term. Through the visit, he honored the sacrifices of those who came before him and vowed to carry out a responsible administration in partnership with residents.

In the afternoon, an inauguration ceremony for the 9th elected administration was held in the below-ground grand auditorium of the Jungnang-gu office, with about 800 residents and staff in attendance. The ceremony featured a review of achievements from the 7th and 8th elected terms, a presentation of the administrative vision and direction for the 9th term, and a reaffirmation of the district's commitment to achieving an even greater leap forward with its residents.

Under the 9th elected administration, Jungnang-gu plans to expand lifestyle-oriented policies focused on areas directly affecting residents' daily lives — including education, the economy, welfare, safety and urban development — while pursuing field-centered, communicative governance to build a city where everyone can live well.

"The 9th elected term is a new departure that will realize Jungnang's great leap forward, built on eight years of achievement," Ryu said. "I will communicate constantly with residents to bring about changes that everyone can feel, and create a Jungnang that is an even better place to live."
