Cheongsong-gun chief Yun Gyeong-hui launched her ninth directly elected term Tuesday, pledging to make the successful establishment of a rural basic income her top priority as she works to reverse the county's population decline and build a resident-centered administration.

Speaking at her inauguration as the 50th Cheongsong-gun chief, held at the grand performance hall of the Cheongsong Culture and Arts Center, Yun said she would "create a Cheongsong where residents are the owners and their lives are at the center." She added that "the time for elections has passed — now the time for unity on behalf of Cheongsong has begun."

"I will carry the expectations of those who supported me as an even greater sense of responsibility, and I will also listen deeply to those who made a different choice," she said. "Let us all come together as one under the name of Cheongsong and build our future."

Yun outlined six core tasks to guide her administration: establishing a rural basic income, driving agricultural innovation, expanding tailored welfare services, promoting extended-stay tourism, building a resilient and cooperative city, and delivering responsive governance.

"I will listen to residents' voices with an even more humble posture and boldly break with outdated customs," Yun said. "I will secure a stable livelihood economy and future agricultural competitiveness to complete Cheongsong's certain leap forward."

Yun began her official schedule that morning with a visit to the local war memorial, steeling herself with solemn resolve as she entered her ninth-term administration.

After the inauguration, she met with local reporters to seek their cooperation in advancing her administration's agenda, then immediately headed out to inspect community livelihood sites — beginning her four-year term without pause.
