Chung-Ang University has appointed K-pop composer and producer Kim Hyung-seok as a special professor in the College of Arts' School of Global Arts.

Kim made his debut in 1989 and has since collaborated with artists including Kim Kwang-seok, Park Jin-young, Yoon Jong-shin and Lim Jae-bum. He also holds the record for the most creative works registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association.

In 2024, Kim served as a visiting professor at the University of Oxford, where he engaged with leading scholars from around the world.

President Park Se-hyun said the appointment marks the start of a broader effort "to develop K-culture-centered leadership curricula and establish an international arts school to nurture future talent."

Kim said he would "do his utmost in the mission of opening new opportunities for students and cultivating the next generation."
