Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2, a pressurized water reactor with a capacity of 950,000 kilowatts located in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province, has resumed power generation after completing scheduled maintenance.

According to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters, Unit 2 resumed generation on June 28 and reached 100 percent output at around 8:45 a.m. Monday.

During the 26th scheduled maintenance period, the unit underwent fuel replacement, an internal inspection of the reactor vessel, and servicing of the main transformer and auxiliary transformers, among other equipment checks and repairs aimed at strengthening operational reliability. The unit also completed all statutory inspections required under the Nuclear Safety Act.

"We will do our utmost to ensure the safe operation of the nuclear power plant going forward," a Hanul headquarters official said, "and we plan to disclose all matters related to plant operations in a transparent manner."
