Jung Chung-rae, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on Sunday rebuffed a claim by lawmaker Song Young-gil that he had fallen out with late President Roh Moo-hyun and was unable to attend his funeral, calling it "100 percent false."
Jung posted on Facebook that morning, citing a news article containing Song's remarks, to deny the allegation.
"That claim is the spread of 100 percent false information. I naturally paid my respects and attended," Jung said. "I ask that you apologize."
Earlier that morning, Song appeared on KBS Radio's "Jeongyeok Sisa" and questioned Jung's recent emphasis on being a "Roh Moo-hyun kid." "Jung couldn't possibly say that. Jung completely fell out with former President Roh and couldn't even attend his funeral," Song said. "When it comes to being Roh's true political heir, others I'm not sure about, but at the very least Jung cannot claim that."
