HXD Hwaseong Development received a presidential commendation Tuesday at the "2026 Ceremony for Veterans' Aging Home Repair and Rental Fund Support" in recognition of its contributions to improving the living conditions of national merit recipients.
The Korea Housing Builders Association and the Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HUG) organized the event at the FKI Tower conference center in Yeouido, Seoul, to mark the 33rd anniversary of the veterans housing improvement project.
Commendations and certificates of appreciation were presented to 36 companies that have provided free repairs to aging homes.
The project is a public-private social contribution initiative designed to improve the living conditions of veterans facing financial hardship and to honor those who dedicated themselves to the country.
HXD Hwaseong Development has supported veterans and their families in securing comfortable homes since 2011, marking its 14th consecutive year of participation.
The presidential commendation reflects the company's consistent contributions to the veterans' aging home repair support project, for which it has received annual recommendations from the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office.
HXD Hwaseong Development previously received a commendation from the minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2013 and a commendation from the prime minister in 2022.
"It is deeply rewarding and meaningful to take part in a project where businesses, institutions and the community come together with one heart to bring warmth to the lives of those who devoted themselves to the nation," said Kim Chang-hee, president and CEO of HXD Hwaseong Development. "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities through sustained community contribution activities."
