The Suseong-gu Council in Daegu held an orientation meeting Monday for lawmakers-elect of the incoming 10th-term council, gathering in the assembly's second conference room.
The meeting was organized to help the newly elected members hit the ground running ahead of the 10th-term council's opening session, with about 30 people in attendance, including the lawmakers-elect and council secretariat staff.
The session opened with introductions between the incoming lawmakers and senior civil servants from the council secretariat.
The lawmakers-elect then received a briefing on the council's current operations and were walked through the second-half legislative schedule, asset registration requirements and other basic administrative procedures needed to begin their duties.
Kim Mi-gyeong, director of the council secretariat, said the office would concentrate its full resources on ensuring a successful launch of the 10th-term Suseong-gu Council and work to create an environment where lawmakers can focus on their legislative duties.
