Starbucks Korea has launched its summer new products, which had been on hold following last month's "Tank Day" controversy.

According to industry sources Wednesday, the chain released four new beverages on Tuesday: the Pineapple Blue Coco Frappuccino, Light Yuzu Lemon Blended, Sea Salt Caramel Cold Brew and Sea Salt Foam Black Tea. The company is also selling four food items — including a Mochi Basque Cheesecake — and 16 merchandise items, among them the Summer Stanley Flow Cold Cup (887 ml).

Earlier, Starbucks Korea announced through an internal notice that it would temporarily postpone its summer promotions and marketing activities. The company also said normalizing product launches was unavoidable given the financial burden on its partner suppliers. However, it said it would maintain the postponement of the Summer e-Frequency, its flagship summer event.

Meanwhile, Starbucks Korea closed all of its roughly 2,160 stores nationwide at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with all store employees required to watch an educational video on historical awareness and social sensitivity. Jeong Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group — Starbucks Korea's parent company — is also scheduled to watch the video with affiliate chiefs ahead of a meeting of company presidents.
