Garden Grove honors Kim for contributions to Korea-US economic cooperation

City home to official Koreatown Business District, seen as Korea-friendly hub

Federation eyes expanded local partnership to support SMEs entering US market

Kim Ki-mun, president of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, has received a "Kim Ki-mun Circle" street sign from Garden Grove, California, in recognition of his efforts to help Korean small and medium-sized enterprises enter the US market and expand Korea-US economic cooperation.

The federation said Tuesday that Kim received the street sign from the city of Garden Grove at the federation's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.

Jenny Lee, a director representing Garden Grove, attended the presentation ceremony. The city presented the sign to honor Kim's work supporting Korean SMEs' entry into the US market and his efforts to expand cooperation with Korean-American business communities in the United States.

Garden Grove is a city in Orange County, California. It is home to an officially designated Koreatown Business District and is widely regarded as a hub with a strong base of Korean businesses and Korean-American commerce.

"This street sign is presented to honor President Kim Ki-mun's efforts to expand economic exchanges with Garden Grove and support Korean SMEs entering the US market, and to reaffirm both organizations' commitment to continued cooperation," Lee said.

Kim said the federation is pursuing a range of programs to help Korean SMEs break into the US market. "We hope Garden Grove will continue to take a keen interest in supporting Korean small businesses entering the United States and serve as a reliable local partner," he said.
