President to chair future defense innovation firm meeting at Cheong Wa Dae on Friday
President Lee Jae Myung will undertake a series of security-focused activities from Wednesday through July 3 to mark the anniversary of the Korean War outbreak and the Month of Patriots and Veterans.
Cheong Wa Dae chief spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced the president's schedule in a notice Monday.
Lee is set to inspect a Marine Corps unit and other security sites on Wednesday, then attend the 76th Korean War commemoration ceremony on Thursday. He will also host a reception that day for war veterans and bereaved families.
On Friday, he plans to chair a strategy meeting on fostering future defense innovation companies.
Kang said the schedule was intended "to honor the heroes who defended the nation and to underscore stronger national defense through robust security and innovation."
