Broadcaster and attorney Seo Dong-joo is departing from the cosmetics brand she co-founded. On Sunday, Seo posted a message on social media saying she was sharing the news "with a heavy heart."

According to Star Today, Seo said she co-founded the skincare brand Kiana in 2024 and had been running it since, but that she and her co-founder ultimately could not bridge their differences over the business's future direction and management. "Despite extensive conversations and deliberation, it was difficult to look in the same direction," she said. "We ultimately decided to respect each other's choices and go our separate ways."

Seo said she felt "honestly quite hollow and disappointed," adding that the feeling was all the more acute because she had cut back on sleep and worked without pay, driven solely by a desire to introduce genuinely good products to consumers.

Seo is the daughter of the late broadcaster Seo Se-won and actor Seo Jeong-hee. She married a Korean-American businessman in 2010, but the marriage ended in 2014. Last June, she remarried, wedding someone four years her junior who works in the entertainment industry.
