Registration open July 1–31 for youth ages 9–24 and families nationwide; competitions in League of Legends, Valorant, KartRider and more, alongside an interactive festival
Guro-gu will host the 2nd Guro-gu Youth Esports Super Cup, district mayor Jang In-hong announced, targeting youth across the country.
The inaugural edition last year drew more than 1,000 participants — youth and families alike — and concluded to wide acclaim. Buoyed by that strong response, the district is staging a second edition this year to foster a healthy gaming culture among young people and promote communication and exchange through digital content.
The competition will be held Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the main auditorium of Dongyang Mirae University, featuring titles including League of Legends (LoL), Valorant and KartRider.
The event is open to youth nationwide between the ages of 9 and 24, as well as their families. Online registration runs from July 1 through July 31.
For the League of Legends and Valorant competitions, online qualifying rounds on Aug. 15 will determine which teams advance to the main bracket. The main and final rounds will take place on-site on Aug. 29.
Alongside the esports competitions, the event will feature a range of interactive programs — including a retro gaming zone, Roblox and Rummikub — creating a festival atmosphere where youth and families can enjoy the day together.

"Esports is an important cultural medium through which young people can communicate, collaborate and build their digital capabilities," district mayor Jang said. "I hope this competition becomes a festival where youth can experience a healthy gaming culture and enjoy it together with their families."
