Kyungnam Energy announced Monday that it hosted a cultural outing in Ulsan on June 18 for more than 30 people with physical disabilities affiliated with the Uiryeong-gun chapter of the South Gyeongsang Province Association of the Physically Disabled, in partnership with the South Gyeongsang Province Welfare Center for People with Disabilities.

Now in its second year, the event was organized to expand cultural and leisure opportunities for people with physical disabilities and help ease their sense of social isolation.

Six Kyungnam Energy employee volunteers who signed up through an internal recruitment drive accompanied the participants. They assisted with wheelchair navigation to ensure safe movement throughout the day and guided participants through the program's activities.

Participants visited Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village in Ulsan, where they explored the area's whaling history and culture, before heading to the Jangsaengpo Hydrangea Festival to take part in a range of cultural activities.

"Corporate social responsibility lies not in one-off events but in sustained commitment," said Shin Chang-dong, chief executive of Kyungnam Energy. "We will continue to expand community engagement initiatives that people can genuinely feel and experience."

Kyungnam Energy has partnered with the South Gyeongsang Province Welfare Center for People with Disabilities since 2006 to run leisure support programs for people with disabilities. The program accepts voluntary applications from employees and runs three times a year on a regular schedule.
