Daejeon city announced Monday that it had successfully concluded the "2026 Daejeon-Sejong Business Partnership Matching Day," held June 18 and 19 in Hanoi, Vietnam, to help local small and medium-sized enterprises expand into overseas markets.

The event was organized to strengthen the global competitiveness of local SMEs with strong prospects for entering the Vietnamese market and to generate tangible export results. Nine Daejeon-based companies participated and held export consultations with local buyers.

The participating companies were Buricle, Olbareun, Nature Assemble, Abrams, Seraphico, KN Tech, Andy PES, Joeun VNC and Pico Pack. Each conducted one-on-one tailored consultations based on its product competitiveness and local market demand.

During the event, the participating companies held a total of 86 export consultations with local buyers and signed export memorandums of understanding worth $81.4 million (124.9 billion won). The city said it focused on identifying and matching buyers through advance market research and local demand analysis to improve the effectiveness of consultations and increase the likelihood of contracts being concluded.

The event also linked new buyer outreach with the export consultation sessions, helping participating companies expand their overseas networks and build a foundation for sustained business relationships.

A Daejeon city official said the matching day "served as an opportunity to introduce the excellent products and technology of local companies to the Vietnamese market and translate that into tangible export results." The official added that the city would "continue to pursue customized trade support projects to help local small and medium-sized enterprises enter overseas markets and expand exports."

Meanwhile, Daejeon city is running a range of trade support programs aimed at expanding the overseas reach of local exporters and strengthening their global competitiveness, including support for participation in international trade fairs and the hosting of export consultation events with invited overseas buyers.
