Iran said a brief exchange on its nuclear program took place during high-level follow-up talks with the United States in Switzerland after a ceasefire agreement, but that formal negotiations had not begun, AFP reported Sunday, citing an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said one of the items the US delegation raised was conveying Washington's position on the nuclear issue.
"A very brief discussion took place on the nuclear issue, but there were no detailed discussions," he added. "Therefore, it cannot be said that nuclear negotiations have been launched."
