Kang Gyeong-hun among six named to Grade 3 posts

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced Monday that it has named six officials for promotion to Grade 3 director-general positions as the city formally launches its ninth elected-term administration under Mayor Oh Se-hoon, with the aim of realizing the vision of "Seoul: A City of Togetherness and Charm."

The six officials slated for promotion are Kang Gyeong-hun, planning officer; Cho Hye-jeong, head of the economic policy division; Choi Seon-hye, head of the finance division; Kang Seong-pil, public development officer; Kim Seong-gi, head of the urban space strategy division; and Kim Dong-gu, head of the residential improvement division.

Starting with this round of promotions, the city plans to carry out a series of director-general-level and above transfers in the second half of 2026 to strengthen its organizational capacity to proactively address future administrative demands.

Gwak Jong-bin, head of Seoul's administrative bureau, said the promotions — the first of the ninth elected term — gave balanced consideration to division heads who had delivered strong results both in key departments directly affecting residents' daily lives and in support departments that underpin the smooth execution of city initiatives. "Going forward, we will continue to identify and promote talented individuals based on performance and capability, generating tangible results that citizens can feel," he said.
