Chairman Lim Jong-ryong conducts overseas investor relations tour from Monday through Thursday, briefing global investors on capital strength, shareholder returns and the group's expansion into non-banking businesses
Woori Financial Group said Chairman Lim Jong-ryong is visiting Japan and Taiwan from Monday through Thursday to conduct an overseas investor relations tour.
The roadshow was organized to brief global investors directly on Woori Financial's medium- to long-term growth strategy, capital policy and shareholder return plans, and to strengthen communication with the market. Lim plans to hold one-on-one meetings with major institutional investors in Japan and Taiwan, sharing the group's management strategy and plans to enhance corporate value.
Lim intends to focus on conveying that Woori Financial's capital strength and growth foundation are being steadily reinforced despite ongoing external uncertainty and market volatility. He will highlight that the group's Common Equity Tier 1 ratio improved to 13.60 percent as of the end of the first quarter this year, and that the group is expanding its supply of productive financing and support for future growth industries on the back of that strengthened capital position.
Lim will also explain how the launch of Woori Investment and Securities and the acquisitions of Tongyang Life Insurance and ABL Life Insurance are complementing the group's bank-centered earnings structure and solidifying its standing as a comprehensive financial group. He will present a blueprint for diversifying the group's earnings base through an expanded non-banking portfolio, with the aim of building more stable long-term profit-generating capacity.
Lim plans to reaffirm the group's strong commitment to a leading shareholder return policy. The group has actively pursued capital measures to enhance shareholder value — including becoming the first domestic banking holding company to issue tax-exempt dividends — and will stress that it intends to maintain a steady shareholder return stance going forward, taking overall market conditions into account.
"Japan, with its focus on enhancing shareholder value, and Taiwan, flush with liquidity driven by the AI and semiconductor boom, are key markets for broadening our investor base," a Woori Financial official said. "We will use this trip as an opportunity to identify new investment destinations and accelerate the attraction of global capital." The official added that the group would continue to create frequent opportunities for close communication with domestic and international investors to further raise its market standing.
