The district is recruiting 100 delivery platform workers as safety guardians, offering a voucher worth 50,000 won (about $33) for reporting three or more hazards during the activity period.
Seoul's Dobong-gu will award vouchers worth 50,000 won (about $33) to delivery platform workers who identify and report local safety hazards as part of a new "safety guardian" program, district mayor Oh Eon-seok announced.
Participants who report three or more safety hazards through the Safety Sinmungo app during the activity period will qualify for the voucher.
Reportable hazards include damaged or malfunctioning roads and facilities, safety violations at construction and work sites, electrical infrastructure risks, and dangers such as landslides or falling rocks.
Vouchers will be issued after the district verifies participants' reporting records, including screenshots of submitted reports, case numbers and processing results.
The vouchers come in the form of mobile coupons redeemable at convenience stores and can be used to purchase beverages, snacks, ready-to-eat meals and bottled water. Tobacco and alcohol are excluded.
Dobong-gu will accept applications from Monday at 9 a.m. through Thursday at 6 p.m. Eligible applicants are delivery platform workers who are registered residents of Dobong-gu or whose primary work location is within the district.
Applications can be submitted by scanning the QR code on the program poster or via the provided URL. Applicants may also visit the district's Local Economy Division in person with a completed application form and proof of employment as a delivery platform worker. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Selected guardians will carry out their reporting activities from Sunday, June 29, through July 10.
A district official said the program is designed both to support delivery platform workers during their breaks and to improve neighborhood safety by acting on hazards spotted in the field. "We will continue to look after the working conditions of mobile workers and redouble our efforts to build a safer local environment," the official said.
