Classical singer Yang Seung-ho served as master of ceremonies and performed at the 3rd Bhutan Cultural Day, held June 12-13 at Chungjungsa in Seoul.
Yang studied at the Superior Conservatorio de Música de Valencia in Spain and took part in the Plácido Domingo Center's gifted-student program. He also completed a course at the Reina Sofía Theatre in Valencia.
He won first place and the grand prize in the vocal division of the Seoul Symphony International Competition and has received a ministerial commendation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. He also served as director of the K-Classical Vocal Culture Promotion Institute under the Ministry of Education and currently serves as an ambassador supporter for the Seoul Woori Card Woori WON volleyball team and as a public relations ambassador for the Ecological Transition Support Foundation.
At the event, Yang led the full program as emcee while also performing at the opening and closing ceremonies, managing both hosting and performance duties throughout.
The 3rd Bhutan Cultural Day was held under the theme "The real rest you've been looking for — a day in Bhutan, right here in Seoul." The event was organized to introduce Bhutanese culture and spiritual values and to expand cultural exchange between South Korea and Bhutan.
The venue featured a range of hands-on programs and traditional Bhutanese cultural content, including performances by Bhutanese singers and traditional dance. Domestic and international guests as well as members of the public attended and experienced Bhutanese culture firsthand.
The event also brought together a variety of programs showcasing Bhutan's traditional and everyday culture, serving as a platform for cultural exchange between the two countries.
