Most powerful heavy truck on sale in Korea
Multiple cab types, colors and specs available
40 pre-orders placed since order intake opened last year
Volvo Trucks Korea announced Monday that it has begun domestic deliveries of the new Volvo FH16, with the first units rolling out June 12.
The company started taking orders for the new FH16 in the second half of last year and has since received 40 pre-orders. Based on that demand, the first batch of 20 units arrived in Korea earlier this month and deliveries are now underway.
The FH16 sits at the top of Volvo Trucks' flagship FH model lineup. Powered by the new Volvo D17 engine, it produces 780 horsepower — the highest output among heavy trucks currently on sale in Korea.
The D17 engine delivers not only high output but also improved responsiveness, enabling quicker and more immediate engine reactions during acceleration so drivers can control the vehicle more intuitively.
In addition, customers can configure the new FH16 to their preferences, choosing from different cab types, exterior and interior colors, and specification packages.
Park Kang-seok, CEO of Volvo Trucks Korea, said the company had been continuously coordinating the domestic delivery schedule with the Swedish headquarters' production timeline, drawing on consistent customer inquiries and demand for the FH16 that followed the launch of the Volvo FH Aero in September 2024. "Thanks to the strong attention and pre-orders from customers in Korea, we have finally made our first delivery," he said.
Park added that the FH16 is "the ideal vehicle for customers seeking a premium model, offering Korea's highest level of output, outstanding responsiveness and drivability, and Volvo's signature customizable convenience features," and said it would "guarantee a more comfortable and pleasant transport and driving environment for our customers."
