First passenger-vehicle service hub in northern Gyeonggi Province
Five work bays allow up to 30 vehicles serviced daily
BYD Korea opened its first official service hub in northern Gyeonggi Province on June 12, launching the BYD Auto Uijeongbu Service Center and beginning full operations, the company announced Monday.
The center was established to improve service access for customers in Uijeongbu and surrounding areas including Yangju, Dongducheon and Pocheon. Equipped with five work bays, the facility can handle up to 30 vehicles per day for maintenance and repairs.
Technicians who have completed BYD's specialized technical training program are on staff to provide routine maintenance as well as electric vehicle-specific inspections and diagnostic services. The center will also apply BYD's global service standards to deliver consistent, systematic customer care.
BYD Korea said it is focused not only on expanding its service network but also on raising service quality. The company plans to strengthen its technical workforce training and education programs to ensure uniform service levels across all locations nationwide.
BYD Korea is working to grow its domestic service network to a total of 26 locations by the end of this year.
"In the electric vehicle market, prompt and convenient customer service is just as critical as product competitiveness in building brand trust," a BYD Korea official said. "By opening the Uijeongbu Service Center, we aim to improve service accessibility for customers in northern Gyeonggi Province and create an environment where they can feel confident even after purchasing a vehicle."
Meanwhile, BYD has been rapidly growing its sales since entering the Korean market last year. According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association, BYD held a 4.8 percent share of the imported vehicle market from January through May, with cumulative new registrations this year reaching 7,023 units.
